Gustavo Petro has extended his lead in the Bogota mayoral race with 28% of the vote, according to the first opinion poll since the withdrawal of Antanas Mockus

The poll was conducted by the National Consultation Center following the formation of a political alliance between former mayor Antanas Mockus and independent candidate Gina Parody and the subsequent withdrawal of Mockus to allow Parody to lead their combined campaign.
The intention of the poll was to determine where Antanas Mockus’ 12% of the vote would be redirected.
Gustavo Petro saw a 2% increase in votes on the previous poll.
Enrique Peñalosa registered 19%; a 2% increase compared to last week.
Mockus’ partner in the alliance, Gina Parody, registered the largest jump in votes with a 7% increase on the previous poll, giving her 17% of the vote.
Carlos Fernando Galan registered no change, maintaining 10% of the vote.
Bogota, as well as the rest of Colombia, will be casting their votes on October 30 to elect new mayors, governors, deputies and council members.
