In an online video Colombian actor Gregorio Pernia chastised TV presenter Jota Mario and asked him to apologize to former co-host Jessica Cediel and the people of Colombia.
The video is the latest in a controversy sparked by Mario, when he referred to Cediel as “the best plastic butt” during his show Muy Buenos Dias, referring to her botched cosmetic surgery.
During an interview with W Radio, Pernia said “I’d like Jota Mario to evolve as a human being.”
Pernia’s video concluded with his condemnation of violence against women, verbal or physical.
Various Colombians have expressed favor for Pernia’s campaign. Others have expressed doubt about his sincerity and concern for his potential for self promotion.
Cediel uncharacteristically refrained from comment for the moment.
