Govt condemns ‘FARC’ car bomb attack

Colombia’s vice president on Thursday condemned the car bomb attack that injured at least 28 soldiers early that day.

“This is a criminal attack against an army patrol. The injured are humble soldiers, sons of farmers, people of the people. I do not understand what the guerrillas gain from this attack,” Vice President Angelino Garzon said in a press release.

According to the vice president, the attack was carried out by FARC guerrillas.

Garzon went on asking for support of the security forces, saying that 400 members were killed and 1,700 injured, the majority by landmines.
