Colombian Defense Minister announced Tuesday that “precautionary measures” are taken to avoid the leaking of information coming from computers found in the camp of slain FARC commander “Mono Jojoy.”
In an interview with W Radio, the minister said that information found on the computers will stay within the Prosecutor General’s Office and “only the President (Juan Manuel Santos), the defense minister, (police) general Oscar Naranjo and (armed forces commander) admiral Edgar Cely will have knowledge” of the content of the computers.
“When we judge that the information is important to be shared with the public we will do so,” the minister added.
Following the raid that killed the FARC’s military commander and 20 others, armed forces found at least 15 computers and dozens of hard drives and usb sticks according to authorities containing more than 9 billion documents.
A special team of investigators in working around the clock to investigate the content of the computers.
