Technology behemoth Google announced Tuesday it will be working with Bogota’s Transportation Secretary to include the city’s dedicated express bus lane service,“Transmilenio,” on Google Maps.
Google Latin American representative, Mark Nelson, told local media sources that including Transmilenio on Google Maps would facilitate transportation across the country’s capital.
“For various months we have been working on an accord to load Transmilenio routes to Google Maps so that a person in Bogota who wants to go to one point to another can use Google Maps to know which bus route to take,” said Nelson. “This process is going little by little and there is still no set date for completion.”
Earlier this month Google, who’s presence in Colombia is increasing, also added 21 of Colombia’s cities, including the nation’s capital, to Google Street View.
