A Free Trade Agreement between Colombia and the United States will become a reality and is just a matter of time, the President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Thomas J. Donahue, said.
Donahue could not give an exact time frame but said that late autumn will be the key time for the Congress to start making decisions, weekly El Dinero reported Wednesday.
The Politician, who represents over 3 million private companies in the United States, explained that the priorities of the Congress are right now focused on the U.S. economy. However, in the near future it will address issues that have been left aside.
“Every day that passes without the agreement, is an [economic] harm to businesses, workers and farmers in Colombia and in the U.S.”, Donahue noted.
But the President of the Chamber of Commerce clarified that “the approval of the agreement is in the hands of the Congress, government and people of the United States”.
