Four FARC guerrillas have been killed in south Colombia, claimed an army press release Thursday.
In the report the 12th Brigade of the Army’s Sixth Division said combat with FARC’s Third Squad in the southern department of Caqueta had left four rebels dead.
An M-16 with a grenade launcher attached, a 7.62 calibre Galil [Israeli machine gun], two AK-47s, a radio, ammo, and intelligence documents had been seized, according to the brigade.
The press release also reported the controlled demolition of four improvised explosives allegedly belonging to the FARC.
The FARC is Colombia’s largest guerrilla group and has been highly active in the Caqueta department in recent years.
