Colombia’s northern port city Barranquilla will hold the 12th edition of the District Festival of Accordion Music on June 21-23.

The accordion festival will be held by a local cultural foundation and music school for future talents. This year’s festival is a tribute to Barranquilla born musicians Anibal Velasquez and Alberto Pacheco Balmaceda, and the nearby-born Nafer Duran.

The festival, which lasts throughout the weekend will kick off on Friday at 6PM.

As part of the festival program it will be held accordion competition for children. The contest will start on Saturday, coinciding with World Music day which is in the capital Bogota.
