1 policeman killed in ‘FARC’ robbery in south Colombia

The FARC are suspected in a robbery of a bank car in southern Colombia that left one policeman dead and three people injured, reported La Semana Friday.

A caravan transporting money near the municipality of San Lorenzo in the southern Nariño department was ambushed Thursday afternoon by alleged guerrillas resulting in the death of officer Andres Felipe Cardona and the injury of three others in the caravan’s party.

According to a local government official, the robbers made off with cash from the bank car and weapons belonging to the police.

Security forces are searching for the suspects.
