FARC leader may meet with Church in Europe

FARC leader Alfonso Cano and a high representative of the catholic church may meet in Europe to discuss the release of all hostages currently held by the guerrillas, monseignor Dario Castrillon Hoyos told Colombian radio on Friday.

The church and FARC are planning to meet the coming days to discuss a possible release of all hostages held by the FARC, the clergy announced on RCN Radio.

According to Castrillon, pope Benedict XVI has given the green light for a meeting in Europe, possible the Vatican.
