FARC guerrillas have attacked three vehicles in the municipality of Agustin Codazzi in the Cesar department Tuesday night killing one and injuring another, reported El Espectador.
Military sources claimed that seven members of FARC fired indiscriminately at the vehicles and later set them on fire. The military also said that, “army troops immediately arrived at the scene to evacuate the wounded, control the situation, and search for those responsible for the attack.”
According to El Espectador, military officials further alleged that the leader of FARC’s 41 Front, Antonio Florez Hernandez, alias “Gonzalo”, and Miguel Acosta Peña, alias “Thomas Garcia”, were responsible for the attack.
The Commander of the Colombian Army’s First Division said operations have intensified in the region and the search to find the aforementioned rebels is currently underway.
