The attack on Tutunendo, Chocó started early Thursday evening when insurgents started shooting at policeman in the city from the hills surrounding the town. One police officer was killed and two uniforms were wounded. Four civilians also were injured and taken to hospital. Their situation has stabilized.After the policeforce of the town received support from the Army, the insurgents withdrew back into the mountains. Officials say the situation in the town has now been normalized.Insurgents started attacking the town of Toribío, Cauca around 7AM Saturday morning, focussing on strategic points, such as Police stations. The mayor of the town confirmed the fighting on Caracol Radio, expressing concerns that there may be civilian casualties, since Saturday traditionally is market day and many farmers come to the town to sell their goods. So far there have been no reports of casualties.Toribío and the surrounding villages have been a FARC target for many years.Update (Saturday, 10:10 AM)According to Cauca governor Guillermo González, the situation in Toribío has stabilized. After interference of the Army the insurgents withdrew. The assault left no one injured.
