Four civilians and two members of the security forces were killed in Saturday in FARC attacks in the southwest of Colombia, authorities said.
One soldier and three civilian coca eradicators were killed near the town of Leiva, Nariño, when guerrillas attacked the eradicators with guns and explosives, the department’s government secretary told press. Seven soldiers in charge of the protection of the workers were injured in the attack.
In the town of Puerto Asis, Putumayo, one policeman and one civilian were killed when alleged FARC guerrillas opened fire on a police vehicle.
According to newspaper El Espectador, the attacks are added to other attacks attributed to the FARC that killed a total of six soldiers, five policemen and two civilians, of which one was a child.
