A suspected FARC attack interrupted a soccer game and wounded two police officers in western Colombia, reported radio station Caracol Monday.
The alleged attack occurred in the western department of Choco Sunday just after local football club Yuto had scored against their rivals from Quibdo.
According to testimonies, the audience fled in panic as alleged FARC guerrillas opened fire against the policemen who were providing security for the game.
Two wounded policemen were taken to hospital for their injuries.
Just minutes before the alleged attack, the mayor of the Certegui municipality, where the events took place, gave a speech about “peace and tranquility in the region.”
A new date has yet to be set for the interrupted match.
