An alleged FARC guerrilla has accepted responsibility for a bombing which killed 11 people in the Pacific town of Tumaco Wednesday, according to newspaper El Espectador.
Authorities said bomb-making equipment had been found at rebel Gerard Chavez’s house during a raid.
Police are still looking for alleged FARC members Gustavo Gonzalez Sanchez, alias “Rambo,” and Oscar Armando Sinisterra Sevillana, alias “Oliver,” believed to have masterminded the police station attack. At least 70 people were also injured.
The government has offered a reward of up to $668,000 for information leading to their capture.
Another police station bombing the following day in the western town of Villa Rica, also attributed to the FARC, killed six people, including a 3-year-old child.
Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos called the FARC “hypocrites” Thursday for carrying out the attacks weeks after proposing new peace talks.
The United Nations condemned the attack in a statement released Friday.
