Fans of a Colombian second division soccer team robbed the clubhouse and attacked players during a Saturday morning training session, newspaper El Tiempo reported.
About 50 members of the Atlantico Bucaramanga’s “barra brava Fortaleza” supporters group, who occupy the south end of the Alfonso Lopez stadium during home games, entered the Bucaramanga clubhouse armed with knives, razors and other weapons and stole items such as wallets, jewelery, sporting equipment and cash.
The players were immediately alerted to the incident, so they abandoned training and entered the room when the fans attacked them. One player was stabbed through the hand.
The police arrived shortly after and were able to arrest nine of the fans at a north-Bucaramanga bus station.
After learning that the arrested fans would shortly be released, club officials decided not to sue, apparently for fear of reprisal.
