Colombia striker Radamel Falcao on Friday confirmed he has completed a move to French club AS Monaco, finally bringing to an end the intense speculation over where he will play next season.
The newly promoted French club excitedly took to twitter to announce the news, tweeting “Agreement for Falcao! Agreement for Falcao!”, before the Colombian confirmed the report, also choosing twitter to address his fans.

The deal, reportedly worth up to $77.25 million was also announced by Monaco’s owner, Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, the man behind the revolution going on at the French club, which has already made several big money moves and upset many of Europe’s elite clubs in the yet young transfer season.
The signing of Falcao is a major coup for the club, as reports suggested a host of top European clubs, including Manchester Utd, City, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain had all been fighting for the signature of “El Tigre” since the end of the season.
Falcao, who reportedly signed a 5 year contract, will now join the already impressive list of new recruits signed up to the Monaco cause, including highly rated Colombian, James Rodriguez, who was signed with teammate Joao Moutinho for a reported $90 million, as well as Real Madrid’s Ricardo Carvalho, whose transfer was announced earlier in the week.
