Proposals to extend the planned Bogota metro to the neighborhood of Suba in the northwest of the city are being presented to the World Bank Friday.
Interim Mayor Clara Lopez told a press conference Thursday, “The mayor elect [Gustavo Petro] thinks that extending the line (…) is a priority, that there should be new studies to extend the line to Suba.
“Tomorrow [Friday] the vice minister of transport [Felipe Traga] is going to have a meeting with the World Bank to hear the bank’s criteria for the mayor elect’s proposals relating to the new studies for the route.”
At a meeting with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and interim Mayor Clara Lopez last month, Petro insisted that the best option for mobility in the city was to construct the metro up to Suba.
Under current plans the first line of the metro will begin in Tintal, and go east up the city to Calle 127.
