Colombian equestrian Daniel Bluman on Monday qualified for the Olympic finals.
Bluman and his horse “Sancha” have made it to the finals after the third qualifer of the equestrian jumping individual qualification of the 2012 London Olympics.
Bluman, native to Colombia’s northwest Antioquia department, placed seventh in the qualifying round out of 45 competitors. He made only one fault during his almost perfect run, which cost him five points.
The rider will compete this Wednesday in Greenwich Park in efforts to win Colombia’s fifth medal in the 2012 Olympics. The country has already beat its all-time record for medals won since it started participating in the Olympics in 1932.
Silver medals have already been won by cyclist Rigoberto Uran, weight lifter Oscar Figueroa and athlete Caterine Ibarguen for her triple jump. A bronze medal was also won by Yuri Alvear in judo.
