Einstein, the Exhibition will run in Medellin until October 2 at Parque Explora.

More than 100 letters, experiments, manuscripts, and other items offer visitors a glimpse into the life of the legendary theoretical physicist, announced the cultural news site Cromos.

Each section of the exhibition focuses on a different facet of the genius’ life: growing up in Germany with a Jewish family, his politics and positions on Hitler, peace and war, his scientific and mathematical theories, and his legacy in pop culture.

Of particular fascination are Einstein’s personal letters about his role in the invention of the atomic bomb and his reaction to its deployment against Japan.

The exhibition will feature educational lectures from Einstein experts (in Spanish). The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, August 18

  • The Theory of Relativity in Daily Life
    6:30PM – Jorge Zuluaga

Thursday, August 25

  • What We Are After Einstein
    6:30PM – Jorge Reynolds

Thursday, September 8

  • Einstein and World Peace
    6:30PM – Jairo Ibarbo

Thursday, September 15

  • Einstein Lecture
    6:30PM – Nicolas Naranjo

Thursday, September 22

  • Einstein, the Man
    6:30PM – Thomas Levenson

The playwright Jorge Wagensberg Lubinsky has created a theatrical tribute to the genius entitled “What do you think of Mr. Einstein?”. Catch the play at the Colectivo Explora Maquina de la Exploracion Fridays and Saturdays at 6:30PM and Sundays at 5PM.

The exhibition and play will run at Parque Explora (Metro stop: Universidad; next to the Jardin Botanico) until October 2.

Entrance to the exhibition (not including the remainder of the museum) is $8.40. For more information, call 5168300 or visit the Parque Explora website.
