An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale hit the
north Colombian department of César Monday morning, authorities say.
There are no reports of injuries or emergencies.
The earthquake occurred just before 4AM and had its epic center in San Alberto, César.
According to the country’s geological institute Geominas, the earthquake happened 121 kilometers (75 miles) under ground and was felt in cities like Bucaramanga, Medellín and Manizales.
Preliminary reports from the struck area did not speak of any injuries or emergency situations.
