Paramilitaries plan to kill a Colombian senator, three judges and two former government officials, Supreme Court president Augusto Ibañez announced Monday.
According to Ibañez, an old friend of him told several media that some one is planning to kill him, Supreme Court vice-president Jaime Arrubla, judge Jorge Socha, senator Rodrigo Lara, and former peace commissioners Victor Ricardo and Camilo Gómez.
Although Ibañez did not disclose the name of his informant nor who is planning his murder, he explained that the information about the homicidal plan was obtained from depositions by Colombian demobilized paramilitary drug lords who were extradited to the USA.
Ibañez stated that his informant friend is not a USA government official in Colombia.
Senator Lara is the son of Rodrigo Lara who was killed in 1984 by drug traffickers who opposed his firm conviction that drug cartel lords had to be extradited.
Gomez and Ricardo were both peace commissioners in Andres Pastrana’s administration.
