Congressman arrested for buying votes

Bogota congressman Ruben Dario Salazar was arrested Tuesday for “buying” votes for his 2006 election.

The Representative for coalition party Convergencia Ciudadana is accused of offering housing subsidies in change for votes.

The politician also allegedly facilitated that residents of Villavicencio were able to vote in his district of Bogota.
