The Screen Actors Guild of America [SAG] nominated Colombian actress Sofia Vergara for best actress in a comedy series, reported local media on Wednesday.
This is the fourth consecutive year in which Vergara has received a nomination for outstanding performance by an actress in a comedy series.
Eddie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Tina Fey (30 Rock), Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation), and Betty White (Hot in Cleveland) stand in Vergara’s way of the SAG award.
While Vergara has won a SAG award twice for an outstanding performance in a comedy television ensemble, she has yet to secure a SAG award in a leading or supporting role.
The actress has also appeared in the television series’ Entourage and Hot Properties, among others.
