Colombia’s National Registry of Civil Status migrated to a U.S. server on Monday, making any hacking attempt a federal crime against the American state.
The National Registry of Civil Status has employed American company Terramar to help provide information to prevent Sunday’s elections from being altered by computer attacks, newspaper El Espectador reports.
The plan is to deliver online information from election day to each department through a press room, where it can be monitored locally.
On the registry website users may find the list of candidates for local elections, voting cards, how to vote, and where to claim one’s identity.
