Colombia’s oil production rose 0.9% in October compared to the same month last year, bringing the country ever so closer to 1 million barrels a day.
The total currently stands at around 952,360 barrels of crude oil a day, the country’s Mining Ministry said in a press release Tuesday. The news came after it was reported that extraction rose 0.48% in September.
Marketing of natural gas has also rose 2.58% in October compared to the 1,120 million cubic feet per day (MCFD) in the same month of 2011.
The rise in extraction was supported by the stabilization of restrictions concerning extraction.
Colombia is hoping to produce 1.35 million barrels a day by December 2014.
