Colombia’s second-longest oil pipeline, the Cano Limon, resumed pumping Wednesday following a bomb attack over the weekend, said an official at state-controlled Ecopetrol SA (ECOPETROL.BO).
Rebels from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, were blamed for the Saturday attack on the pipeline in northeastern Colombia near the Venezuela border.
The latest bombing was the third attack on the Cano Limon this year, said the Ecopetrol official, who asked not to be named.
The 771-kilometer pipeline can pump up to 220,000 barrels a day of crude from the Cano Limon field in the state of Arauca, but recently was only pumping about 80,000 barrels a day.
