‘Colombians for Peace’, the group that seeks a dialogue with the FARC,
wants the guerrillas to respond to the massacre of 27 indigenous Awá in
the south east of Colombia.
“‘Colombians for peace, whose motto is to respect human life and dignity, expresses its outrage of the slaughter committed against the Awá indigenous community in the department of Nariño. We demand that the authorities clarify the fact and request the Secretariat of the FARC to make a public announcement regarding this shameful event,” a press release by the group said.
The FARC is accused by both indigenous and human rights groups of having committed the massacre killing 27 indigenous Awá.
