Colombian soccer player Radamel Falcao should have inspiration for his upcoming World Cup qualifier matches after being idolized as a “Tiger on the loose” in a new song released on Tuesday.

The song titled “Anda Suelto un Tigre” or “Tiger on the Loose,” released by the Colombian band Katamaran, glorifies the talented striker singing, “Falcao, how great you are … your goals are promises … that make the heart beat.” The song has gotten a lot of attention on Facebook and YouTube.

Falcao tweeted about the song shortly after its release saying, “Thanks to the guys of Katamaran Music for the tribute that you made for me. I liked it a lot.”

Gracias a los chicos de @katamaranmusic por el homenaje que me hicieron,me gusto mucho.Acá les comparto el link youtube.com/embed/Y-p9oTAe…

A very enthisiastic Katamaran lead singer Julian Rey responded via Twitter, “BIG, BIG, TIGER, Thanks a million! You deserve it!

@falcao GRANDE GRANDE TIGRE un millón de gracias! Te lo mereces! m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=Y-p9…

— julian rey katamaran (@juliankatamaran) March 19, 2013

Katamaran’s music video featured clips of “El Tigre” scoring goals, and their band members decked out in his jersey singing the rock/ska sounding ballad.

Colombians are crazy about Falcao and their national team which gives them the hope for a return to the World Cup, a feat they have not accomplished since 1998. Falcao knows their passion as well, tweeting on Wednesday, “In Barranquilla we already have a great playoff atmosphere and on Friday [for the match] the city will be totally yellow.”

Buenos días !!! en Barranquilla ya tenemos un gran ambiente de Eliminatoria,y seguranente que el viernes el metro sera totalmente amarillo

The Colombian national team will play Bolivia March 22 and Venezuela on March 26. It has not been confirmed if Falcao will warm up to his new song.
