The prosecutor general opened an investigation into a subsection of the Institute for Rural Development, Incoder, the institute in charge of land restitution for Colombia’s displaced.
The subsection in charge of fishing and aquaculture for Incoder is being investigated on allegations of misconduct by community members.
“Prior to a complaint formed by the Ministry of Agriculture and in compliance with a decision from the prosecutor general, the judicial police DIJIN practiced judicial diligence on computer equipment from Incoder,” said National Police chief Oscar Naranjo Thursday.
According to reports, 37-45 computers, 5-10 USB memory sticks, and one iPad belonging to Incoder were confiscated by the judicial police.
The director of Incoder, Juan Manuel Ospina, told Caracol Radio that the intention of the investigation is to uncover any validity in the irregularities that have been presented by the people against the subset in charge of the nation’s fishing.
