Colombia News - Pipe Bueno

Colombian popular music phenomenon “Pipe Bueno” has signed a contract with Universal Music Group, one of the world’s leading music companies, entertainment site estereofonica.com reported Friday.

The artist, whose given name is Andres Felipe Bueno, will now sit alongside international music sensations Lady Gaga, Juanes and the Black Eyed Peas, among others, who have been signed by the famous company.

Pipe Bueno is one of the most successful artists in Colombian popular music, despite being only 19 years of age, and is considered to have revolutionized the genre. His career trajectory thus far includes a platinum-selling debut album, a Latin Grammy nomination and numerous awards.

Pipe is famous for having taken the genre from old bars and carried it to a new public, and to younger generations. This fame is reflected in the millions of views of his videos on Youtube.

The artist’s past hits include “Recostada en la cama” and “Me enamore,” a video in which his girlfiend, TV presenter and model Jessica Cediel, 10 years his senior, appears.

“I’m not only happy as a person and an artist, but also in a patriotic way, since I will be another representative of Colombian music at an international level, with the support of this important company, and in this way I will be able to bring the other face of our country to to other places in the world,” said Pipe in respect to the contract.

The artist already began recording his first album with Universal, which is projected to be released in mid-September, with the first single being released on June 7.
