Colombian Navy seizes ton of cocaine off Pacific coast

The Colombian navy on Monday intercepted a boat trafficking a ton of cocaine in the Pacific waters off Colombia’s Choco department. Three men were arrested in the operation.

According to the navy, the boat was heading towards Central America when it was stopped by the armed forces.

The cocaine was packed in 57 bags and has an estimated street value of $30 million.

The Pacific navy forces report having seized 20 tons of cocaine in the course of 2011.
