Colombian Director Carlos Moreno was named “Best Director” for his film “Todos Tus Muertos” (All Your Dead Ones) Tuesday night at the 28th Annual International Film Festival in Bogota.
In the area of national cinema, “Los Colores de la Montaña” (The Colors of the Mountain) by Carlos Cesar Arbelaez, which will be featured at the Oscars this year, was recognized as the best recent Colombian production.
The Alexis Award for new filmmakers went to “El Cielo Esta Roto” (The Sky is Broken), another new Colombian film.
The Pre-Columbian Gold Award, the top prize of the festival, was awarded to the Chilean film “La Mujer de Ivan,” the debut film of director Francisca Silva. Pre-Columbian Silver was given to the Bulgarian film “Shelter” and Pre-Columbian Bronze was for the Filipino film “Danza con dos Pies Izquierdos.”
The festival began on October 10 with a screening of Filipino film “Rosario” by filmmaker Albert Martinez, and closed with October 18 “El Baile de la Victoria” by Spanish Director Fernando Trueba.
