Colombia news - Jeny Paola Acosta

Colombian model and businesswoman Jeny Paola Acosta dies from multiples injuries caused by a fall from the sixth story of a building in the city of Ibague, reports newspaper El Espacio.

Investigations will continue to determine whether her death was suicide or an accident.

Accordng to early reports, Paola was drinking at a bar on Avenida 56 and Calle Ambala where both she and her husband Yeison Opsina worked.  At 3:30 in the morning the couple apparently had a heated argument and she went to seek solace from her cousin who lives on the 15th floor of the Fontaine Bleau building.

According to El Espacio, the model sobbed to her cousin that she wished to end her life and moved towards the railing of the stairs that lead up the middle of the building. At the last moment, she reportedly changed her mind, but she slipped and fell over the railing, falling to the sixth floor.

Paola was unconscious when she was admitted to the Federico Lleres Acosta Hospital at 4:20AM, and at 6AM Sunday she was pronounced dead.

The entrepreneur and model is survived by her husband of 14 years and 7-year-old daughter.
