Colombian commander of the armed forces, General Freddy Padilla, will on Wednesday meet with military heads from Mexico and the U.S. to discuss working together to combat drug-trafficking and terrorism, reported EFE on Tuesday.
The five day meeting, scheduled to take place in Washington, will be attended by Padilla, the U.S. chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Michael Mullen, the Mexican secretary of national defense, General Guillermo Galvan Galvan, and the Mexican secretary of the navy, Admiral Mariano Saynez Mendoza.
The four officials will discuss ways to collaborate to form a united front against narco-traffickers and terrorists active in the three countries.
During his stay in Washington, Padilla will also meet with the director for Western Hemisphere affairs for the National Security Council, Dan Restrepo, to discuss international security matters.
