Two sites in Colombia were added to the 2010 World Heritage Watch List, published biannually by the World Monument Fund.

The San Fernando and San Jose Forts in Cartagena de las Indias and the historical center in Santa Fe de Antioquia were new entries on the list, which features sites of global importance in more than 90 countries.
According to a report by El Informador, the historical center in Santa Fe de Antioquia has been widely visited in recent years, which has compromised the building’s infrastructure. The forts were constructed in the 18th century under Fernando VI, and are also recognized on the UNESCO World Patrimony List published in 1984.
Being featured on the list allows sites of cultural importance to apply for funding through the World Heritage Foundation in order to protect and preserve sites for future generations. Sites are judged on significance, urgency, relevance, and viability.
