Colombia’s Cuadrado will stay in Fiorentina: head coach

Despite rumors, Colombia’s  Juan Cuadrado won’t be transferred anywhere this season, according to the head coach of his Italian club Fiorentina.

Both Manchester United and Barcelona were rumored to have interest in Colombia’s speedy winger after his World Cup performance, according to international sports site Goal.com.

But Fiorentina’s head coach, Della Valle, told reporters Friday that the Colombian will continue to represent the Italian team.

“I can guarantee that Cuadrado is certainly staying,” Della Valle told reporter.

“It’s a huge gift for the city. Cuadrado’s an important player for Fiorentina,” he added.

Cuadrado himself refused to rule out the possibility of a transfer on Monday, British news site Daily Mail reported.

“My future does not depend on me, there is still time until the market closes, no? I don’t know,” the Colombian star winger told reporters.

According to Goal.com, Barcelona withdrew their interest in Cuadrado because of his transfer value.

Manchester United have been reported to be in negotiations with the Colombian, but the rumors quieted, and United announced the signing of Argentina Angel Di Maria earlier this week.

Fellow Colombian Falcao could be going to Real Madrid subsequent to the capitol club’s sale of Di Maria. Despite head coach Ancelotti denying that the team are to spend more money this transfer window, the rumor of Falcao’s departure resurfaced flying across the sports media.

The transfer window closes on September 1st.
