Colombia’s consul general in Miami resigns

Angela Suarez, Colombia’s consul general in Miami, confirms that she is leaving office on the order of President Juan Manuel Santos and Foreign Minister Angela Maria Holguin, W Radio reports.

The diplomat said “I never thought that 11 months after taking over I would have to say; ‘I’m getting off the boat and going.'”

Suarez said that she does not want to resign as it feels like leaving the job half done.

The official said that she will continue working for the Colombian community in Florida.
