Months after her semi-nude photo shoot, Playboy has still not paid Carolina Betancourt, the actress says, accusing the renowned magazine of swindling her.
“I did my part of the contract, of my things, and it does not seem fair that a guy like this Mr. Gerardo Campillo [Playboy’s representative in Colombia] takes advantage of the innocence of people. Moreover, I am not the only one who’s been swindled. There are many other models he has not been paid and the guy doesn’t show,” Betancourt told news website Terra.
The actress will take Playboy to court, she says, after Campillo did not show up at the last of three reconciliation attempts.
According to Betancourt’s lawyer, the case will be brought before a prosecutor. “He will press charges for fraud, is going to request his arrest, preventive detention, hopefully in a prison setting. Additionally, he will request the seizure of assets owned by Mr. Campillo in Colombia and also by Colombia’s Playboy magazine.”
The actress claims that of the $4,230 fee agreed for the shoot, she has only received $952, “almost 90%,” the singer calculated.
