Colombia and the United States have signed a joint agreement which will double efforts to prevent smuggling between the two countries, local media reported on Thursday.
According to Radio Santa Fe, the Colombian Minister of Finance, Mauricio Cardenas, signed an agreement with the US department of homeland security, pledging to fight organised crime between the two countries.

The Minister signed the agreement with United States’ Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano. In a statement Mr Cardenas said “the agreement seeks to share information and leverage resources of both nations to combat organized crime affecting cross-border trade.”
