Colombia will send a navy vessel with 400 tons of goods to Haiti, as part of worldwide efforts to help survivors of last week’s earthquake that killed an estimated 200,000 people.
According to the country’s Interior and Justice Ministry, which is in charge of Colombia’s aid to the Caribbean island, hospital ship ARC Cartagena is scheduled to leave on Tuesday carrying medical supplies, food and drinking water.
On board will be a team of doctors to attend the sick and the injured.
The vessel is expected to arrive in Haiti on Thursday.
