Colombia’s Ministry of Defense awards $2.6 million to be divided among the informants who provided information for the whereabouts of guerrilla FARC leader, “Alfonso Cano,” newspaper El Tiempo reported Tuesday.
The analysis of payment and security guarantees for those who collaborated with Colombian authorities on determining the location of the FARC’s top leader began on Monday.
The number of informants and the distribution of the money will remain undisclosed to the public, for safety reasons.
The same was done in the case where the FARC’s second-in-command “Mono Jojoy” was killed last year.
