Colombian exports in November climbed 19.7% to $3.42 billion from a year earlier, the government’s statistics institute, or DANE, said Monday.
The November figures continue a pattern of increases in Colombia’s exports, boosted by sales of oil, coal, coffee and ferronickel. These products together climbed 33.5% in November and reached sales of $2.25 billion. Nontraditional exports, which include manufacturing and agricultural goods, rose 0.7% to $1.17 billion.
The export sector has enjoyed a strong recovery after suffering steep declines last year. In the first 11 months of 2010, exports were up 21.3% to $36 billion.
