Colombia’s central bank chief
Jose Dario Uribe said on Sunday the nation’s economy has shown
stability as the world is battered by financial turbulence and
a mounting credit crisis.
“In the case of Colombia we have shown great stability,”
Uribe told Reuters at the end of a four-hour meeting of central
bank presidents from Latin America’s biggest economies.
Chief bankers from Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Peru
and Colombia were in the Chilean capital Santiago for a day of
meetings to discuss the deepening global financial crisis and
how best to shield the region from its fallout. (Reuters)
