Colombia have lost their seventh World Cup 2010 qualifier to Uruguay, who left Bogotá with three valuable points in the pocket.
Uruguay scored the only goal of the match through Diego Lugano after just fourteen minutes.
The thousands of fans at El Campín stadium of Colombia’s capital
city watched as Colombia attempted to find their way back into the
game. Rodallega came close in one occasion but his effort went just
wide of the Uruguayan post.
But the Uruguayans held on to their lead and secured a win that allows them to move into third place at the expense of Colombia.
Colombia will move down another spot after the match between Chile and Brazil, scheduled for Sunday.
