Colombia’s minister of mines and energy discusses the sale of electricity with representatives from other Latin American countries at a conference in Bogota on Tuesday.
Colombia’s representative, Mauricio Cardenas, considered the meeting to be of vital importance to the future of the country.
“We have a great capacity of generation. There are countries that need our electricity such as Chile and Panama and that is just an example,” Cardenas assured.
The minister also said that although Colombia is the Latin American country best positioned to sell energy, that opportunity has not yet been taken advantage of, and it could even stretch to Central American countries that are in need.
