The economy of Colombia has emerged from recession in the third quarter due to a resurgence in sectors such as trade and industry, as well as a greater dynamism in construction and mining, said analysts polled by Reuters Tuesday.
According to the poll, conducted among 32 experts, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country grew 0.14% between July and September, compared to the same period in 2008, when it grew by 2.8%.
The growth follows three consecutive periods of contraction between October last year and June this year.
Meanwhile, the survey showed an average forecast of economic growth for all of 2009 of 0.19%, with a median of 0.06% and a mode of zero.
The survey also showed average expansion of 2.55% next year, with a median and a mode of 2.5%, in line with the target set by the Government.
