Colombian Grammy Award winning pop star Carlos Vives has topped the Billboard Latin Album charts with his new album, “Corazon Profundo.”

Corazon Profundo, released in April 2013, has earned international recognition and could certainly be considered a highlight of the singer’s career. Vives has been creating music for more than 30 years, and his latest success is a clear demonstration of his continued relevance as a performing artist.

Carlos also thanked his fans for making the album such a success, through a message on Twitter. “I have not said anything of our first position, and of the respect that they have had [for] #CorazonProfundo. THANKS THANKS THANKS.”

No les he dicho nada de nuestros primeros lugares en ventas y de la deferencia que han tenido con #CorazónProfundo GRACIAS GRACIAS GRACIAS

— Carlos Vives (@carlosvives) May 2, 2013

Carlos Vives stands alone as the only Colombian artist to have sold over 17 million records worldwide.
