A Canadian mineral exploration company is set to begin drilling for diamonds in southern Colombia.
Cliffmont Resources Ltd. is a Vancouver based company focused on advancing and developing mineral exploration projects in Colombia.
The company announced it had been granted all necessary permits for an initial exploration drill campaign at their San Luis project site in the southern department of Huila. With over 31 historical mines, the San Luis region has a rich history in mining dating back to the 19th century.
“We are very pleased to have received all permits in such a timely manner. As this is the first drilling to take place in the historical mining district we look forward to testing our priority targets,” said Jeff Tindale, President and CEO of Cliffman Resources.
The San Luis mining site (approximately 6,500 acres) located in Colombia’s Andean Cordillera moutain range has established infrastructure, including road access, power and water at a relatively low altitude ranging from 4,593 feet to 6,889 feet.
The company is planning 16, 404 feet of diamond drilling to start May 2012.
