A delegation from Brazil, the country in charge of the logistics of the promised release of five FARC hostages, will arrive in Colombia next week, a member of “Colombians for Peace” said Tuesday.
According to Hernando Gomez, a member of the peace advocacy group headed by mediator Piedad Cordoba, The Brazilians will arrive in Colombia to evaluate the protocols the Brazilian and Colombian government, FARC and mediators must sign before proceeding with the release operation.
Gomez told W Radio that Cordoba still has not received the coordinates of the five different locations where the rebels want to release the hostages.
The FARC announced the release of the hostages on December 8. Both Cordoba and Gomez said that a release will not take place before the second half of January.
